Description
It is with a very heavy heart that I'm advertising my very rare 1998 Fiat Ulysse 2. 0 (petrol manual) EL 7 seater in metallic Royal Blue. With the five rear seats removed it is basically a van so ideal for camping trips/ tip runs etc... The two rear seats and parcel shelf are included in the sale but not shown in the photos as they're keep out of the car most of the time.
I wish for the car to go to an enthusiast as there are so few left, especially low mileage petrol manual models. I have it insured on my classic car insurance policy.
I have owned it for three years and I'm the third owner, the first being Fiat for the initial two years of it's life. The second owner had it for the next 18 years and only became available due to his sad passing.
There is loads of service history, all previous MOT certificates and even the bill of sale when purchased back in 2000.
Not long after I got it I had the cambelt kit replaced and a few months later the head gasket failed so that was replaced too (along with a head skim etc).
While is has certainly never been abused there are some problems so it is being sold as spares or repairs. I am still driving it so it should get you home (and it's currently taxed).
The MOT is only valid until Aug 28th this year and there were no advisories after I had some work done last year.
It had four matching new tyres only a few thousand miles ago.
The clutch has started to slip and although still driveable (I drove to London in it yesterday!) it will need replacing.
I believe the factory fitted sunroof leaks (apparently a common fault) and therefore the carpets can get damp in heavy rain. I just lift the carpets up and let them dry naturally.
The air bag light came on a few weeks ago after I put the passenger seat forward to the full extent. I've not looked into what has caused the problem.
There is some rust/ dent on the off side rear wheel arch and some general knocks/ marks around the car.
Rear washer doesn't work (again, apparently a common fault).
The tick over can be a little up & down but it doesn't stall and when driving it really does go very well.
The rear doors can get stuck occasionally when it is warm (maybe these could be adjusted?).
I'm sure there are things I have missed so the car needs to be viewed before you agreeing to buy.
Comes with two keys with working remote central locking on the main key, genuine Fiat headlamp protectors (very rare) and working cd multichanger. All four electric windows go up and down as do the two rear electric windows and both retractable door mirrors work. The front sunroof is a pop up and the rear electric sunroof works, albeit a little slow.
I am sad to be doing this but I have started doing longer trips to Devon and it doesn't seem fair to be using it for regular long journeys.
Viewings at my home ten mins from junc. 12 of the M5 and cash on collection please.
