Description
A RARE sight these days, here is my 1957 Humber Hawk Mark VIA. This was the last of the entire Hawk "Mark" range. It was the only one to have the 2267cc ohv engine fitted as all previous versions had been side valves. This was indeed a late one as it was registered in the same month that the new shape Hawk was launched by The Rootes Group!
Widely regarded by enthusiasts as the best of the range, this VIA is a really solid old girl with a very good "proper" chassis and sound panel work. The two-tone colour may not be to everyone's taste, but beauty lies in the eye of the beholder and so each to their own. Looking in the boot and engine bay, I would imagine she was a grey/ silver car when new. She drives and pulls really well and only yesterday she completed a 15-mile run without a hitch. Yes, a bit cosmetically challenged in places but no big rust and rot problems. Leather seats are good but the original carpets have had it. Floors look sound. Maybe just the car for a lover of Rootes Group cars or just 1950s cars. Not an 8k example but not her fault. There is still plenty of appeal to her I would suggest. Not every classic has to be a show queen and context is all, thus dictating pricing. Leave as is or tinker and improve. At this sort of money, you are bound to find things you want to do to her. A project, currently driving nicely enough and seemingly sound in all the right places.
I can also assist with delivery and so please ask for a quote. Thanks, Martin the details below).
