The off road capabilities of the Defender are legendary. The 2. 2 litre turbo diesel produces 360 Nm of torque, fully utilized via the dual range transfer box and 6-speed gearbox. This provides an additional six forward and one reverse low range gears for extreme conditions and gradients as steep as 45 degrees.
Permanent 4-wheel drive with a centre diff distributing torque equally between the front and rear axles for optimum performance both off and on road. The diff can be locked to minimize wheel spin on slippery surfaces for even better traction. Independent coil spring suspension with high ground clearance, great towing applications and excellent water-wading abilities. It will pretty much go anywhere you want it to.......
