Description

Flamboyant Daimlers were Lady Docker’s choice of vehicle to express her taste for the rich and exotic, and coach built models famously transported Royalty in the 1950’s. This sensational model was restored in the mid 1990’s to an exceptional standard by David Davenport and exhibited at the NEC Classic Motor Show in 1997 where our client spontaneously purchased the vehicle, and for the following 15 years drove it as it was designed to be used primarily for touring a 100 mile ‘a’ and ‘b’ road journey between his two homes. Finally deciding to part with the Daimler, we sold it on to another regular client where, for a while the car was displayed in a motor museum keeping company with E Types, Astons and other fine machinery. Finished in Opalescent Maroon over Silver Chalice with Cream Hide, such was the Barker’s presence that it was frequently mistaken by visitors to be the most valuable car on display. At a fraction of Bentley or Alvis money, but without compromise on looks, driveability or quality, what better qualifies the outstanding value this sporting classic represents as a luxury four seat touring convertible? A show-stopper wherever it goes.
