Ready for a new adventure? You will need my beautiful Discovery 3 G4 Challenge then! Built in 2008 for the 2009 G4 Challenge this is one of only 95 vehicles built that year for the global challenge and one of only 68 D3’s. As the G4 challenge was cancelled due to the financial crisis, my D3 has had a pretty easy life, only taking part in the qualifying competition for the UK team and not going on to the gruelling 3 week race in Mongolia.
This is a full HSE D3 with a TDV6 engine and 6 speed auto box. It has a full service history which confirms it had a brand new dealer fit full engine at 82, 000 due to a camshaft fault. Therefore the new engine has covered just 17, 000 miles and is as good as new. I have also had the gearbox rebuilt just 1 month ago, even though it had no fault, the torque converter was showing wear and therefore I had the entire box refurbished whilst it was out. With a new prop shaft this D3 has a drive train that will provide hassle free miles for years to come. I have all the history from new and all work undertaken, including costs can be viewed. This is a super car and drives beautifully.
Being an HSE it has all creature comforts including, heated front and rear seats, memory elec driver seat and elec passenger. Climate control front and back, heated front screen and rear and sides. Air suspension means that the car floats along on tarmac and off road the electronic driver aids mean that you can take this car on whatever adventure your heart desires. It has satnav and also a DVD to keep the rear passengers entertained with Bluetooth headphones. There is also an Alpine DAB radio added to the main 6xCD and FM radio unit with AUX and Bluetooth phone connection. Steering wheel controls for all music, phone, cruise and driver info. It also has a very handy fridge in the centre console.
Because of the G4 spec this D3 also benefits from a full length heavy duty roof rack perfect for your roof tent, bikes, kayaks, surfboards etc etc etc. If your adventures take you off the beaten track you are well catered for with unbelievably powerful spot lights, snorkel for wading, underbody protection and of course a Warn Winch should you get stuck! The winch has a brand new never used G4 winch rope, and in order to keep in touch out in the wilds, it comes with a CB radio.
Finally, the car comes with the additional racing equipment for the G4 Challenge, a Pirhana Kayak and paddle, G4 Mountain Bike, G4 Igloo Tent and also the rear floor protection board. New MOT and EGR valves replaced September with genuine LR units.
These vehicles are very rare and have historic interest with a very vibrant G4 Owners club staging events and shows all over the country.
