Vehicle history:
On March 21, 1972 the "Auto Club Roma Italia" registered this Pantera Group 3 for the first time. The license plate assigned at the time was Roma KO 9227. This license plate is still at hand and comes with the vehicle. In 1973 the "Ital Atlantic Express" racing team took over the racing car for its driver Maurizio Micangeli, who raced it several times until 1975. In seven races in the Italian sports car championship this DeTomaso was able to achieve three victories, including in Magione and Vallelunga. In 1975 Marco Curti, alias Spiffero, bought the Group 3 Pantera and used it in several races, also in a race against Michele Mouton and Riccardo Patrese. In 1979 the racing career of this Pantera ended for a few years. In the mid-90s, after a factory restoration, the car took part in races again, like for example at the Le Mans Classic in 2002.
This DeTomaso was completely restored and prepared for the use in the historic motorsport. In addition to a new racing engine, over € 170, 000 had been invested. The vehicle is ready for a new chapter in racing. A racing car full of potential and with an impressive history.
