1997 BMW 840Ci Sport 4. 4 V8 Auto
Fantastic example of BMW’s groundbreaking E31 in striking Oxford Green metallic and tan leather interior with just over 97k. Comprehensively serviced and pro-actively maintained throughout its life. The vendor viewed a number of examples and having owned 840s in the past; this one was the best available at the time (2014) and no expense has been spared in its upkeep since.
Specialist-maintained during their ownership since 2014. The M62 later 4. 4 V8 is in excellent running order and the automatic gearbox changes smoothly. All E31 problem areas have been addressed - air conditioning compressor in 2017, ECU & lambda / camshaft sensors in 2018, suspension refresh in 2021, to name but a few key items in their ownership outside of annual servicing and consumables, with over £12, 500 in invoiced parts and labour. The car's book pack has unfortunately been misplaced by the vendor however we do have written confirmation from BMW UK documenting its entire service history from new (dates, mileages, locations etc.). The car has an MOT until April 2022.
The larger BMW optional lattice alloys are fitted, the upgraded optional sound system and 6CD changer still sounds spectacular. No leaks or damp issues, no crashes, only minimal rust spots and marks on the body (reflected in the price), full working sunroof and both batteries in good order.
This has been the vendor's pride and joy for seven years - the ultimate grand tourer with the advanced 4. 4 V8 from the final years of production, and benefitting from the refined Sport suspension setup. They will be very sorry to see it go but it is ready for its next custodian.
