The Datsun 120Y, B210 and B211 models were produced between 1973 and 1978. The car sold well in the UK, offering good value, a high level of standard equipment and arriving at a time when UK built cars were in short supply due to strikes. The coupe version has become rare and collectable with perhaps less than 10 left on UK roads today.
This car is a 1978 Datsun 120Y coupe in its original colour of metallic brown. It was registered new in Plymouth and with its first owner for 25 years but was unused for many years due to illness. It was re-commissioned in 2005, then laid up for a long period until 2016 when a light but comprehensive restoration was carried out including a re-paint, new front wings and a long list of mechanical jobs and replacement parts. The mileage is correct at just 55, 000 and the condition is best described as outstanding with a rock solid original underside, detailed engine bay and beautiful paint finish. The interior is also in excellent original condition. The only deviation from standard specification is a set of fitting period style alloys with Datsun centre caps, which are shod with matching Uniroyal tyres.
