This glorious Harvest Gold Sceptre was harvested from the Humber Car Museum in Hull, which sadly was recently forced to close down. First bought by a Mr Arthur Richardson of Hove in Sussex in June 1970, the history file includes a letter from Mr Richardson signing over the Humber to the museum, 'our best wishes to you, thanking you for accepting our well-loved Humber'.

Consequently, the car has had just three former keepers in more than half a century, and has covered a slightly surreal 1100 miles since 2003. Having been so carefully looked after in all its years, the car is in outstanding condition. The wheel arches, bottoms of the doors, and sills are all sharp-edged and rust-free, with the chromework also in fine order. It's a very stylish-looking car with plenty of character and flair from all angles, and with its stunning cream interior, the color seems perfect for the car. From the vinyl roof to the extravant 1970s wheels the car stands out in every respect.

The interior and roof lining are impeccable, the deep-pile carpets are unmarked and the deep luxurious seats are incredibly comfortable to sit in. The whole interior, which is surprisingly roomy, with its spotless wooden dashboard, wooden trim all round, chrome-trimmed padded door cards, and great visibility in every direction make ride quality absolutely magical - and the capable 1725cc engine adds to the premium feel.
The fact that the car has automatic transmission is another worry taken care of, and together the engine and gearbox give a smooth and sporty drive, helped by the car's twin carburettors and probably also by its exceedingly low mileage which currently stands at 36, 040 miles!

These were marketed as family sports cars back in the 1970s, and were much sought-after and very highly regarded. We find it hard to believe that there are any out there in as good condition as this one, and so we are especially delighted to be offering this Sceptre Mark IV at a hard-to-believe £8995.

We highly recommend interested parties call rather than email to avoid disappointment.
