Here we have an absolutely fantastic opportunity for someone to buy or make an offer on an aluminium E-type Series One Lightweight roadster (recreation) which was originally manufactured 3 July 1963.
It was raced extremely competitively during the 1990s – 2000s by Chris Randall in the Anglo American (AMOC) series under registration number EBW906A It is also recorded in Peter Griffith’s latest book "E type – factory in private competition class"
The body, excluding bonnet was purchased from RS panels and those of you in the know will be aware to buy this now, excluding any running gear, fixtures and fittings, would cost in the region of £200k + VAT with a two year waiting list. The bonnet, also manufactured in aluminium, was from another British company called Shapecraft.
The current race engine installed has been re-bored to 4. 5L, mated to a straight cut Quaife gearbox, developing close to 400 BHP when last dynamoe’d (approximately 12 years ago)
The car has not been started for over 10 years now and has been stored in a dried dehumidified facility so will need re-commissioning.
The specification is extremely high with an awful lot of hard to get original components such as Italian Webers, Lynx manifold, plus much more. It comes with a 1961 original flat Floor matching numbers E type engine (block and head) and an early carburettor set up with inlet manifold. It also has the correct period 1961E type Moss box. The car will come with a comprehensive spares package which will enable it to be converted back to a fast road option or, with a little bit of time and effort, I’m sure could be prepared to be registered for FIA.
It has a current V5, and Heritage certificate. The BIG 38 registration plate is included within the sale.
I would consider a part exchange plus cash for other Jaguar marques.
To recreate this vehicle today I would imagine would cost in the region of £450k plus. For the right person out there, this is an amazing opportunity.
