A totally accurate recreation to 1969 specification. Fully road legal. Built between 2000-2004. DVLA registered as an 1965 car. Originally built for the personal use of Bryan Wingfield and constructed by the renowned Paul Fleming whilst in his employ. However the car was sold on completion to its one owner, now deceased.
Built from an original surplus Ford monocoque chassis and the body panels created from the original Ford moulds that Wingfield had acquired. The car is powered by a 425 BHP Ford 5. 0 litre 302 engine and breathes through 4 twin choke Weber carbs. The engine is fitted with Weslake heads, Carrrillo rods and pistons. It’s mated to an original ZF1 gearbox. Stopping power comes from period correct Girling brakes with ventilated discs and an original magnesium cased steering rack has been fitted.
The attention to detail is astonishing. The wiring is Lucas cloth braided as per original, the instruments are new old stock and being modelled on a 1969 GT it has the obligatory 14” wide rear wheels.
This car was constructed by the Master of GT40’s and must be the closest one can get to an original car at a fraction of the price. Any professional inspection is welcomed and interesting historic part exchanges considered.
