We have the pleasure of offering for sale this Ford GT40 MKII continuation from the manufacturer Superformance under Safir GT40 Spares licence, and listed on the GT40 Registry.
Bearing chassis number SPGT40P / 2111 and presented in the livery of the GT40 that won the 1966 Le Mans 24 Hours, this Superformance left the production lines on 7 June 2006 and arrived in France in 2011 with fewer than 1, 500 miles. Its last owner, a Frenchman, acquired it from a professional in the Lower Normandy region in May 2012 with 1, 670 miles on the odometer.
The car is registered in France with a valid registration document.
It is currently the only Sup erf ormance GT40 registered for sale in Europe.
It is equipped with a Ford Windsor Stroker 427 ci (7. 0 L) V8, assembled by Performance Engineering in Ohio, USA, paired to a 5-speed RBT gearbox.
Its quadruple-barrel carburettor is a new Holley HR750 installed in November 2023. In January 2024, its ignition system was refreshed with the installation of a complete new MSD distributor, part no. PN 8578.
GT40 Superformance cars are supplied without engines. Common powerplants include Ford 302 V8s, 351 Windsor engines often stroked to 427 ci, or even 427 FE Big Block depending on the owner’s choice. Models fitted with a stroked 427 Windsor, like this one, are one of the most widespread configurations due to their performance and fit with the car.
Having benefited from regular maintenance, it currently shows 11, 750 miles and is in very good overall condition, with no signs of accident or prior repair. It runs perfectly, its V8 revs cleanly, the gearbox gears change smoothly, it drives and stops in a straight line with precise steering. A service will be carried out before delivery to its future owner.
