motodrome offer this 1999/ T reg Land Rover Defender 90 TD5, in six seater spec, finished in Green with white roof.
When this first came into stock in late 2018, it was fairly obvious that, whilst previous owners had spent quite a lot of money on the interior and mechanically, the front of the chassis was an absolute patchwork quilt in terms of plates having been welded on. We think it had been used for getting boats into and out of the sea.
We therefore took the decision to tear it apart and rebuild it on a brand-new Richards galvanised full chassis, and this work was completed in late 2019
Obviously we didn’t just replace the chassis – it had all-new suspension and axle bushes, galvanised front bumper and front turrets, shock absorbers, steering components, UJ’s, brake pipes and lines, fully rebuilt rear brakes, etc etc, plus we took the opportunity to weld in a new passenger footwell.
The bill to do this was pretty eye-watering but was worth it – it became a Defender that should last a new owner a long time. We subsequently sold it in March 2020 to a local client who’s enjoyed 15000 miles with it, and decided to upgrade by buying a 2014 Defender, so this one has come back to us.
It has a decent spec, including a refurbished interior with new Exmoor Trim front seats, cubby box, touch screen Kenwood DAB stereo with reversing camera, new steering wheel, new full headlining and carpeted rear load area, and twin rear benches, with 4 lap belts
Also fitted with roofrack with rear access ladder, freestyle alloys with a matching set of General Grabber tyres, sliding rear windows, Trucklite LED headlamps, replacement screen blocks, galvanised door hinges, factory folding sidesteps, chequerplate to wingtops and modesty covers, rear worklight, rear step, rear mudflaps, and adjustable towpack.
Odometer reading 131000m, and it underwent a big service plus new front discs and pads, and new radiator, in September 2021
It comes with MOT to the end of November 2022 and 6 months warranty on sale.
It drives absolutely superbly with a very willing TD5 motor.
