Description

Triumph TR4A
Year of registration: 1965
Engine: 2, 138cc (petrol)
Mileage: 16, 275 miles
Points to note: Californian import, BMI Heritage Trust certificate supplied.
This is your chance to own one of the most exceptional TR4A IRS’ on the classic car market at present. Vehicles of this quality rarely come to market and coming up so early in spring, you’ve got the perfect window of opportunity to enjoy the car before popping it away for autumn/ winter.
The car needs no additional work, is rust free and would easily win shows across the country; the TR4A for somebody seeking a car which is impressive and will stand out in a crowd for decades to come.
The car was originally sold in Los Angeles and the supplied BMI Heritage Trust certificate shows the destination dealer as ‘Standard Triumph Motor Company, Los Angeles’ with the equipment extras listed as disc wheels, heater, windscreen washer and Goodyear tyres. The original plates for the car from its life in California are contained within the history file. The car was imported in April 1991 and there is official documentation to support this on the BMI Heritage Trust certificate.
In addition to this on the certificate, the engine number and chassis number are all listed and these details match the details on the car.
The TR4A has had an incredible amount of money spent on it and the supplied file of invoices and documentation is inches thick; with no expense spared on the work with finer points including all genuine NOS Triumph panels used on the car, original NOS StanPart seatbelts, suspension set up by Revington TR and a fully documented with invoice engine rebuild (original engine rebuilt – not a new or replacement unit – helping to ensure the car retains originality).
The car has also benefitted from a costly, high calibre restoration around 2002/ 2003 and there are countless invoices and some photographs, with parts coming from well-known Triumph spares retailer TRGB with each item itemised; the best proof of the extensive effort contained within the restoration undertaken. Photographs of this restoration and each itemised receipt can be viewed at any booked appointment.
The upgrades to the car are of a similar level of quality and desirability and include attractive blemish free chrome wire wheels, Revington heater upgrade, Moss comfort seats (costing over £1, 000 new off the shelf), walnut dash and Moto Lita leather steering wheel.
Being a US import, the underneath of the car is immaculate and there’s no grotty underseal, no welding and a pristine solid floor; the dream scenario for every classic car buyer! We have ramps on the premises and prospective buyers will be invited to view this car on the ramp and fully inspect the underside to confirm just how immaculate this TR4A really is.
With the history file of invoices and documentation running to inches thick, it would be impossible to list the work undertaken on the car or parts purchased, but future custodians will be delighted with the level of attention and care previous owners have taken to ensure no scrap of paper has been mislaid. All paperwork can be viewed at a booked appointment and test drives by prior agreement.
The last TR4A in the showroom sold within hours of listing and we don’t expect this car to be hanging around for long either! If you’re interested and wish to book a viewing or to request more detail, £24, 995
