EXTERIOR;
Made famous by the 2. 7 RS in 1973, the classic combination of Carrara White with red RS decals still looks incredible nearly 50 years on. Technology may have come a long way since then but the philosophy behind the cars is very much the same; with lightweight centre lock wheels, a huge carbon wing and plenty of aerodynamic assistance its all about ultimate lightweight performance.
Presentation of the car is fantastic with the whole car pleasingly still in its factory coat having never had any paintwork in its life. Recently removed front PPF has kept the front free of any stone chips, with only the rear flanks showing some signs of use, the rear factory fitted arch guards protecting the paint below. With no further visible imperfections the Carrara white and contrasting red finish is radiant, with a deep and even shine from almost every angle.
INTERIOR;
Specified with a combination of leather, alcantara and carbon fibre the cabin of this GT3 RS exudes a purposeful track edge but with a hint of luxury. The carbon fibre inserts separate the black finish that lines the glove box and lower dash. This is matched by the alcantara steering wheel, handbrake and gear surround. Condition of the above is superb, free from any signs of major wear its clear that this has been a very well cared for example.
The specification of this car gives the best of both worlds; whilst the red roll cage and fire extinguisher make the car track ready, optional cruise control and Bluetooth means it can be comfortably driven home after a good blast at the track.
ENGINE;
True to form the RS engine fires into life and settles with a familiar rattle coming from the lightweight flywheel. Paired to an exquisite 6-Speed manual gearbox the 997 is definitely the purists choice, with a level of driver engagement eons ahead of its contemporaries.
Mechanically the car wants for nothing having been under Porsche Warranty since new and a fully main dealer history. Whenever anything has been needed, its been done!
WHEELS;
The lightweight centre lock designed wheels are in perfect unmarked condition wrapped, their vibrant red finish perfectly contrasting the Carrara white above. All four wheels are shod in a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres with plenty of tread.
The brakes remain in excellent condition, having been replaced by Porsche at 22, 251 Miles at the cost of £15k.
HISTORY FILE;
First registered 01/ 09/ 2010 at Porsche Centre Sutton Coldfeild, the car was bought by its long term owner in August 2011 and has cherished it ever since.
Since new the car has remained under Porsche Warranty and is still valid until Jan 2024.
