Absolutely stunning 1937 Fiat 500 Topolino with 569cc type B engine. Fiat launched 3 models from 1936 to 1955, all with minor mechanical and cosmetic differences. The model a was offered as a 2 door saloon, there was a 2 door van and the 2 door convertible coupe with folding convertible roof, as per this example.
Externally, this Topolino, which is registered as a historic vehicle, is finished in gleaming black over cream paintwork. The body panels were stripped back to bare metal, powder coated and professionally painted to a very high standard. In addition, a new convertible roof has been fitted.
Underneath is solid and clean. The chassis was also stripped back and powder coated with new sills and floor pans fitted. Indeed, numerous new parts have been fitted to the car, too many to mention here. However, all documented in the vehicle's file.
Internally, the car is equally impressive with new fitted carpets. The seats and door cards have been re-trimmed in black and cream to compliment the exterior.
Mechanically, the little fiat is sound. The type b engine has been fully overhauled as part of the car's complete restoration with new pistons, bearings, clutch, carb and exhaust. The dynamo and starter were overhauled and a new battery fitted together with a new regulator and a full new wiring loom. Again, there are numerous invoices in confirmation of the above.
This little car has a real presence. It draws a great deal of attention and no wonder. It is probably the best out there! As I said, fantastico - bellissimo - carino - a piece of Italian motoring history.
