LOTUS ELAN S3 1967 FHC TYPE 36 SUPER CAR FOR RESTORATION JUST OUT FROM STORAGE AFTER 44 YEARS ** SOLD**
Very original car with no accident damage from new. Body shell, bonnet, boot, doors all original from that date. Original engine, standard Bore , correct DCOES 18s Carbs` Original chassis (in my opinion can be restored even though the chassis has had stress cracks and has been welded on the engine mount brackets) and original body with body no: 1863. So in essence a very straight forward restoration.
In all my years of Lotus ownership and dealings there are not many Elan's as good as this as a basis for restoration. Unfortunately the car doesn't look its best in this 1973 colour change. Was informed original colour was Black, very unusual for the time. There is evidence that the car was Carnival Red at one time.
The car is low mileage and low ownership.
