The Riley One Point Five was produced from 1957 to 1965 with only 19, 568 being made in total. We are now informed that there are only 37 registered on the road with the DVLA. The Riley compared to its Wolseley equivalent was more refined and had 20 bhp more than the Wolseley due to the fitting of twin carburettors.
The Riley One Point Five as the company formally described it ? was, along with its slightly less well?endowed sister, the Wolseley 1500, originally intended to be a Morris Minor replacement. However, thanks to the Minor continuing to be a big success, it was decided instead to transform the forthcoming model into small luxury and performance saloons under the Wolseley and Riley badges. Of the two models, the Riley had the more power, boasting almost 20bhp more than the Wolseley. It managed 68bhp from its twin?carb 1489cc B?Series engine.
Craner Classics are pleased to present this 1962 Wolseley One Point Five finished in Bermuda Blue complemented with a powder blue interior.
The car is finished to a very high standard with excellent walnut dashboard and door cappings along with good headlining and a luxurious pale blue carpet. The V5 shows just 3 former keepers.
The chromework presents very well and the car sits on new Dunlop tyres all round (including the spare tyre as well).
There is an owners workshop manual, spares list, heritage certificate and a box file full of invoices for parts and work which has been carried out on the car.
This is the very desirable Riley version which are now becoming very rare and in its very attractive Bermuda Blue paintwork we expect interest levels to be high, so would urge interested parties to contact us as soon as possible to avoid any disappointment.
