EXTERIOR
This Weissach pack Gen 2 RS looks incredible in it’s launch colour of Lizard Green with carbon bonnet, roof and aero louvres providing that all business race-car for the road dynamic. NACA ducts in the bonnet are featured for the first time with a GT car; optimising air acceleration and looking all the more purposeful for it. Covered in Paint protection film throughout the body remains in excellent order and the paintwork in superb condition.
With its huge rear wing, lightweight glass and perspex side and rear window there is no doubting that this car is made for a sole purpose. Every styling addition is there for effect not looks, It’s front wing louvres double downforce at the front meaning a larger rear wing can be used to provide a balance across the whole car. The large side air intakes create a ram effect for the engine, once placed on the back of the RS car it’s now at the side utilising ‘cleaner’ air than that flowing over the roof – an audible benefit too as the induction from the engine travels further through the car adding to the driving sensation.
INTERIOR
Beautifully appointed the 991 RS features carbon sculpted 918 body hugging sports seats and a cabin fused by the very best materials available.
The Weissach package features a titanium roll cage, crested headrests and a fitting plaque to the passenger trim above the glovebox. In a relentless search for every possible weight saving measure even the trim on the steering wheel, and the respective paddles, have been replaced with CFRP. Lighter carpet trim completes the cabin’s diet plan.
At the business end, sports dials adorn the instrument cluster along with front axle lift, traction/ stability control, switchable exhaust and suspension presets to hand below the gear selector.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 4. 0 litre engine is hidden from view under black plastic and twin fans however it’s every bit as special and matches the technical and advanced construction of the rest of the car.
While previous generations of GT3 and GT3 RS variants shared engine components this is not the case for the 991. With more power and more torque thanks to a raised 9k redline, the Gen 2 also features a solid valve train like the RSR and revised engine oiling alongside stiffer springs and softer anti roll bars. The results are astonishing and ensure a perfect balance between road and track.
The reprogrammed PDK 7 speed box is the latest in Porsche rapid fire drivetrain development, punching through the gears in a seamless and continuous fashion.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The tyre sizes on the 911 GT3 RS are nothing short of impressive: 265/ 35 ZR 20 on 9. 5 J x 20 at the front, 325/ 30 ZR 21 on 12. 5 J x 21 at the rear.
An un-compromised decision from boss Andreas Preuniger it was a must to use the same setup as the 918 Spyder for outright mechanical grip despite all initial CAD mock ups showing they would not fit. Suspension and body changes were all necessary along with expensive adjustments to the production line as the car was too wide! The result of the 20/ 21 inch combination is sensational showing added pitch combined with maximum track width on the rear.
Multi spoke gloss black wheels fit over PCCB’s providing plenty of stopping power in conjunction with the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tyres.
HISTORY FILE
Ordered new by it’s sole UK owner in August 2018 from Porsche Centre Brussels this very special RS was first registered in the UK on the 1st November 2018.
Unlike the UK allocation where all non OPF cars were delivered without the Weissach package. Europe had that option and as such this is a Non OPF Weissach Package RS, something of a rarity in the UK.
The car had it’s first service with OPC Guildford at 2, 195 miles in 2020 before a second service, on time, with the same dealer at 2, 834 miles in August of 2022.
Covered under Porsche Approved Warranty until September 2023 the car has all supporting paperwork from new. It is available net of tax.
