EXTERIOR
Presented in a rare and stunning shade of Nero black this Challenge Stradale is in near perfect condition. The flawless paintwork is protected by 3M paint protection film ensuring that the car still wears its original factory coat of paint but without the stone chips commonly picked up by the low front end.
The green, white and red stradale stripe accentuates the smooth, sleek lines of the Pininfarina-designed bodywork which leaves any keen passer by in no doubt that this is the homologation lightweight 360.
INTERIOR
The immaculate interior of this example is stripped-down and straight forward with almost every part focused on saving weight. The alcantara inserts in the carbon-fibre racing seats and half leather/ half alcantara dash remain clean and free from any wear, echoing the condition of the carbon-fibre surround on the instrument cluster, housing the central tachometer, coloured yellow for optimum legibility.
The steering wheel is flanked by F1-style ‘paddles’, with the right hand paddle lengthened to facilitate upshifts when accelerating out of bends.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The Challenge Stradale’s 90° V8 mid engine is longitudinally-mounted behind the cabin, and its red cover contrasts in striking fashion against the dark bodywork. The engine is a work of art and provides the driver with an audible symphony of an exhaust note and the kind of performance that is unique to a race-ready car designed for road use.
The F1 transmission produces lightning-quick changes through the 6-speed gearbox, incorporating two different configurations – ‘Sport’ and ‘Race’ – with corresponding damper and traction control settings.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The 19-inch Challenge wheels are in superb condition, and come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4s which are showing plenty of tread left. The braking system itself features silver-coloured calipers, aluminium brake carriers and lightweight carbon ceramic discs from Italian manufacturer Brembo; a package which delivers superb deceleration rates and excellent handling.
HISTORY FILE
This left-hand-drive Challenge Stradale was delivered to Niki Hasler AG of Basel in 2004 and then went early on in its life to the Netherlands where the car was enjoyed for 9 years. From there it was sourced and purchased by ourselves for import into the UK in 2014 and sold to it’s first UK owner. After 5 years with the first owner we then sold the car once more to it’s 2nd fastidious owner in 2019 with the last 2 services carried out by Jardine Ferrari Colchester.
Jardine would replace the timing belts in 2021 and the car was also subject to an annual service with further work completed in April of 2022 at 36, 651km.
In total the car has had 8 services since arrival into the UK and 10 in total as illustrated by the service book;
