EXTERIOR
Looking every bit the Rally Cross racer for the road, this RS looks incredible finished in Stealth Grey. This generation of RS features that large trapezoidal grill opening that provides a unique identity for the new ‘Fast Ford’ and alongside the traditionally large rear wing and big exhausts the car looks suitably menacing.
Thanks to careful use and low mileage the car sits in totally original condition and is almost indistinguishable from new.
INTERIOR
The cabin space is dominated by the exceptional Recaro seats that look just right trimmed in RS Blue. Recaro always deliver on that balance of support and comfort with the seat condition in superb condition as you would expect with only one owner and such low mileage. The dash is ergonomically very straight forward and pleasingly analogue in it’s operation with a rally spec favourite of dash mounted gauges – Boost Pressure, Oil Temperature and Oil Pressure – providing all the key metrics.
The optional Sat Nav is very user-friendly and the upgraded Sound system is a extremely capable alongside Android / Apple car play connectivity.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The 2. 3 engine is a triumph with an elastic powerband; frugal when necessary and savage when looking to press on; more-so in this case given Ford approved Elite engineers Mountune have applied the M375 performance kit. This upgrade transforms the attitude of the car; keener, more urgent and in keeping with the B road giant killer theme. The kit includes a mountune high-flow induction kit and a uprated re-circulating valve. The exhaust system has also been upgraded by the Essex specialists and the car now offers a deeper layer of sound throughout the rev range.
The AWD system is a revelation alongside the innovative ‘Drift’ mode – although this is probably more of a powerslide setting thanks to the the natural behaviour of all wheel drive.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The optional Forged 19 inch wheels are unmarked and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport rubber – in fact these are the original tyres that were fitted from new which offers some indication as to the careful mileage covered over the years.
The Blue Brembo calipers are in fantastic condition, clamping disks and pads that display minimal use.
HISTORY FILE
First registered on the 31st March 2017 by Trust Ford of Epsom, this stunning RS has had one private owner from new.
Despite the low mileage the car has been serviced every year by the Ford main dealer as illustrated by the original service portfolio booklet;
