Beautiful Diamond White MGB GT with a great history.
The MGB runs well, is very original and appears to be very sound. It has just been wax-oiled underneath, is fitted with an overdrive gearbox, stainless steel exhaust system, has good tyres and recently replaced front springs.
The car is registered as a historic vehicle and therefore is ULEZ exempt and does not need an MOT or road tax. However, it has always been MOT’d and comes with the reassurance of a current MOT valid up to May 2023.
This is an excellent opportunity to acquire a very original MGB GT with a lovely history, that is just waiting to be taken to classic car shows this summer. This car was purchased new by MG Car Club member Gordon Wilson in July 1971 and acquired by a family friend of Mr Wilson in 1979. The car was regularly maintained by Shiplake Motors of Henley on Thames until 2003 and then by JRS motors of Reading. There is a large file of documentation going back to 1988 (including details of a £9, 500 bodywork restoration in 1991).
The MG was the much-loved everyday transport of this lady owner from 1979 up until 2003 and then only used occasionally by her, and always garaged. Sadly, the lady’s advancing years eventually meant she was no longer able to drive it and I bought it from her last Autumn.
The extensive paperwork file includes numerous receipts, old MOTs, owner’s handbooks etc.
