1938 Riley TT Sprite Special
The TT Sprites were a series of cars built to take part in the Tourist Trophy races in the mid 1930s. They were mainly based around a Riley 12/ 4 engine and chassis, but with low, sporty bodywork. The bodies were generally low slung, snug 2-seaters, with a long pointed tail housing a large fuel tank.
This Riley TT Sprite Special is an absolute smashing racecar with dashing looks and tremendous panache when raced. Very well constructed, respecting rigorously the specifications of those very successful Riley racecars from its time and thus receiving its own FIA racing passport.
The 1500 cc Sprite 4-cylinder engine, is very well balanced and tuned. It provides almost endless acceleration power. The Wilson preselect gearbox makes the gearchange very easy. The big Jaeger and Riley instruments installed in the beautiful aluminium brushed dashboard are correct and all work properly.
