Originally an automatic. I have owned this car since 2015. In 2017 ML Motorsport changed the engine to a 1275cc from a 1990s Mini Sprite. Cylinder head; refurbished 12G940 fitted with unleaded valve seats, larger factory (MG Metro) intake valves, cleaned ports and chamber sizes reshaped and increased capacity to suit unleaded fuel, std valve springs, new valves and guides. Block; over-bored to +40 thou, giving 1310cc, turbo spec pistons for low compression ratio for unleaded fuel, AC Dodd fast road cam, re ground crank/ new bearing, cam bearings/ followers/ timing chain/ oil and water pump. Transmission; lightened and balanced vertical flywheel with turbo spec h/ d clutch. Rebuilt rbox with 3. 1 final drive. Single Hif44 carb, LCB exhaust manifold with RC40. Lucas electronic ignition. New wiring loom. Rose petal alloys. Minisport 7. 5” grooved and vented discs with 4 pot alloy calipers. Recent full service. Not concours but solid, reliable car and great fun!
