I have owned this vehicle for 8 years and it has been used very much as an everyday classic, not a car that is kept locked away and only comes out in the summer when the weather's good. For the past couple of years it has been used regularly as a tow car, it is capable of long journeys and everyday use.
I am looking to sell partly because I fancy a change and also because I now want something a bit newer and more economical to go further afield with the caravan.
With a bit of time and money spent it could be a very nice car but I don't want to take it off the road to do this as then I'll have no tow car.
It has many good points, it is lovely to drive, runs really nicely and starts first time, has four good tyres, has electronic ignition fitted, nice interior (great smell!), towbar, solid in all the right places - no rust in the windscreen scuttle panels, inner wings and floors all good, no structural rust that I'm aware of. It can even be quite economical on a long run, I've had nearly 25mpg out of it.
There are no leaks from the engine, gearbox or power steering and it uses a minimal amount of oil.
It also has some bad points, and this I feel is reflected in the sensible asking price.
There is rust on the bottom of all four doors and one of the rear wings need repairing or replacing. It has had a bad partial respray at some point in the past and most of the newer paint on the roof has peeled off but underneath the paint is fine just a little dull but this doesn't really detract from the overall appearance of the car.
The gearbox changes up and down OK but I think would benefit from a service as it won't kick down and occasionally when hot after a long run will sometimes clunk a little bit when changing down as it comes to a stop, and very occasionally it will judder in reverse if you try to go too fast. These are not problems that really affect driving or using the vehicle but I want to be totally up front and honest about the little faults that the car has, but please bear in mind that it's a 50 year old car!
On the photos it looks like there are white marks on the side of the car but these are just the reflection of the road markings where I took the photos. You are very welcome to come and have a look and if there are any more photos you need taking or you need any more information, please message me.
I've now seen another car I want so am reducing the price for a quick sale. If it doesn't sell I'll probably just end up keeping it instead.
Price reduced from £4, 295 to £3, 500
