With us at RFH Classic we have this beautiful 1964 (B) Humber Sceptre 1. 6 finished in Pippin Red with Black Vinyl trim. This great looking car has come to us from long term ownership and clearly has been very well cared for. How good It is to see the interesting body lines that the Rootes Group were well know for and this MK1 Sceptre certainly offer this. The stylish design is not limited to the exterior either, sit in the car and you are presented with a dashboard that was way ahead of similar cars of this age and today looks just as stylish. The dash contains an array of useful dials and gauges, all of which are working.
The seats in this Humber are finished in Black Vinyl and like the rest of the interior trim is in exceptional condition and appears to be the original fitted. Under the bonnet the power for this very lively 4 Dr classic comes from a 1592cc engine which is paired to a 4 speed manual gearbox. The gearbox is fitted with an Overdrive that after driving the car for around 30 miles we can confirm is working perfectly. Turn the ignition key and the engine fires into life with very little choke from cold, a check of oil pressure gauge indicates good pressure from cold and also after a run both with all the gears engaging nicely. The car had a lot of interest from the initial photographs we uploaded probably due to it having such fantastic styling for its age. In the office we have a considerable history file for the car containing lots of records for work undertaken to the car over the years.
