Description
MGB GT – Restored/ Re-Shelled/ Overdrive
The MGB GT, designed by Pininfarina, was introduced in October 1965, and can claim to be one of the earliest sports hatchbacks to go into volume production. The rear deck offers excellent luggage space with a 2+2 option and improved aerodynamics gives the GT a top speed in excess of 100mph.
At Milestone Classics we are always looking for good BGT’s and are delighted to market this early MGB GT owned for 20 years by a time served engineer. The owner undertook a full restoration using a replacement shell sourced from Florida (he specifically wanted the same year as his original car - 1968 shell/ no reversing lights apertures) as the basis of the “nut & bolt” restoration project.

On the road the car drives extremely well with the familiar MGB exhaust burble providing that classic driving soundtrack. She starts on the button with good oil-pressure, no untoward noises, excellent (non-servo) brakes, overdrive engages smoothly and all instruments function perfectly.
The bodywork presents very well – the true test of any restoration – with very nice paint and excellent panel fit.
The interior was restored by the owner to the same exacting standards and is a lovely place to be.
The days have long gone when the BGT was the poor relation to the B Roadster. Good examples are highly prized, and the quality of this restoration has really impressed us.
Ready to be used and enjoyed, this stunning GT does tick just about every box.
