Introduced in January 1986, the late model AMV8 with Electronic Fuel injection, known as Series 5, benefits from the many updates and improvements incorporated into the models 15-year production period.
1 of just 42 right hand drive examples built, before the demise of the V8 range, equipped with sequential electronic fuel injection, boasting improved tractability and lower fuel consumption. This particular Efi V8, we are pleased offer, was manufactured with a number of discreet and useful improvements built into the specification, for first owner Mr Sydney Norman.
A profligate owner of the day, Mr Norman purchased over 16 new AMV8’s, over a 14-year period, consistently having a new car in build at any one time. A frequent visitor to the Newport Pagnell factory, Norman was on first name terms with the engineers and craftsmen, hand building his cars. Quite naturally, during this extended period of regularly renewing his car, a number of detailed improvements requested, were developed and built exclusively into Norman’s cars, including additional soundproofing, personalised suspension settings and added quality in build where possible, all surpassing regular production standards.
Now, 37 years after manufacture, this superb V8 retains all the hallmarks of Norman’s specific improvements and remains in superb condition throughout, having been consistently maintained to the highest standards by Aston Martin at Newport Pagnell and highly regarded AM specialist engineers, by subsequent owners.
Having covered just 66, 000 miles from new, a detailed and rigorous record of services, maintenance and MoT certificates, an AMHT Vehicle Heritage Certificate and copy of the build record card, are contained within a leather-bound history file which accompanies the car. Also included, is a period Motor magazine reprint, featuring an enlightening interview with Mr Norman, on his passion for the AMV8 model and this actual car.
