This was an original Aston factory Works conversion at Newport Pagnell carried out some 3 years after its original build. With the engine converted to 6. 3 litres, along with the full body rework and conversion, with uprated suspension, brakes and deep dish split rim style OZ alloys. The vehicle file includes the original invoice from Aston Martin Works for its full conversion costing 60, 770. Only 3 owners from new, the last owner has owned this 1990 Aston Martin Virage Coupe since 1995, maintained by Stratton Motor Company since 1995 with a good service history file. Ahead of the companys forthcoming twin-supercharged Vantage, Aston Martins Service Department offered 6. 3-litre conversions for the existing 5, 340cc V8-engined Virage. This project had been conceived by Service Department bosses Kingsley Riding-Felce and David Eales, and was given the green light by Walter Hayes, newly installed as Aston Martin CEO by new owners the Ford Motor Company.
