The MGC Model was launched in the Autumn of 1967 with the aim of being a flagship Sports car to replace the Austin-Healey 3000 - Powered by the BMC 2912cc OHV Engine only 4542 roadsters were produced between 1967 and 1969. DVLA records show only 788 still in existence in the UK which further adds to the desirability.
This particular example was built in 1969 and exported to North America on 8th April 1969 - repatriated back to the UK in 2013 it was the subject of a comprehensive restoration which was completed to a high standard with the Engine rebuilt and the odometer zeroed it was returned to the road in 2014. Since restoration the MGC has been regularly but lightly used and has covered less than 2000 miles in total. Recently benefitting from a comprehensive service and detailing program, in our own workshops, which has brought this older restoration freshly up to speed.
The Paintwork presents beautifully & with much of the chrome work renewed the bodywork stands proud. The underside is remarkable and has freshly been Lanoguard coated for future protection. The Interior sports Leather Seats and New Wool Carpets along with New Stainless Sill Entry plates. The Steering Wheel is the Original Large Period Wheel and along with the dash and instrumentation oozes a nice blend of originality and light patina. The Chrome Wire Wheels are superb and wear Veredestein Classic Period Pattern Tyres. The Boot Area benefits from a fresh Carpet Set and houses the original Jack & toolkit. The Vinyl Hood looks as new, and a fresh matching Full length Tonneau has just been added to complete the weather gear. The Engine Bay is detailed and is a pleasure to view.
Out on the road the Engine performs perfectly and with its fresh geometry set up, post the suspension being rebushed, drives wonderfully.
At launch in the 60's the MGC came in for motoring press critism, but my own opinion is that this car drives much nicer than a std B or even the later RV8 and is an absolute joy.
MOT & Tax Exempt but optional current MOT runs to June 2024 with No Advisories
Freshly serviced from top to bottom I am confident that this MGC is a cut above most and ready to be thoroughly enjoyed.
