SpeedBroker have the pleasure to offer this beautiful rally spec RS2000, having been enthusiast owned and sympathetically restored and modified to exacting standards
If you're reading this advert, chances are you are already very familiar with the RS2000, the desirability of the model, coupled to the increasing rarity of one in this condition. Released in 1976, the RS2000 was based on the 2dr MKII escort. It utilized the 2. 0 SOHC Pinto engine that was longitudinally mounted with the gearbox at the rear of the engine and a prop shaft feeding to a rear Diff powering the back wheels. This set up made for a very engaging and iconic drive!
This particular example is an early car, registered on the 9th January 1976. Finished in 'Carnival Red' (being arguably one of the most sought after colours), it has been painstakingly converted and restored to rally spec over the course of its current ownership. No two RS2000s are alike and this car has gone through several changes and upgrades to create the owners dream specification. The car has a clean history with a car check having just been done and no previous registered accidents

Overall condition
We have inspected the car ourselves and it presents in exceptional order throughout considering the works were carried out a few years ago. Metal work from what we have inspected is solid on the underside, in the engine bay and in the boot. The paintwork presents in exceptional order and to a very high standard - There is some metal 'worming'/ corrosion on the front O/ S front wing which can be seen in the picture and some very small blemishes, but apart from that its a beautifully presented car. on the underside/ suspension components there is some surface rust, but not structural, and overall its clear to see the time, effort and high quality of the work that has gone into this vehicle. Genuine and very reluctant reason for sale
