1939 Alvis 12/ 70 Racing Special Roadster by Compton’s of Welshpool, presented in British Racing Green with black leather seats.
This very special Alvis was manufactured as a 12/ 70 in 1939, just before Alvis stopped car production to move on to war production later that year. The original 12/ 70 saloon was converted to a sports racing boattail special in 1966 by Compton’s of Welshpool, who as many will know was the acclaimed master of creating Alvis racing specials. Fitted with a later Alvis TA. 14 1892 cc engine which was fully rebuilt in 2008 and mated to its Alvis 4-speed gearbox. Complete with new hood, tools and History File.
Part of a large private collection having being subject to regular maintenance over the years in addition to the major engine works. This is the first time to market in 20 years, presenting in quite exceptional order throughout. We feel this offers great value and an amazing opportunity for anyone wanting to get involved with the many historic events it would be eligible for.
