The Morgan Plus 8 is a sports car built by British car maker Morgan from 1968 to 2004 and again in revised form between 2012 and 2018. Its instant and enduring popularity has been credited with saving the company and keeping the company famous during the 36 years of its manufacture. Among Morgan enthusiasts, it is deeply associated with Peter Morgan, the owner-chairman behind its design. The production Plus 8 was launched in 1968 using Rover's production engine, a re-engineered version of the Buick 215 motor (renamed the 3. 5 L by Rover) with a compression of 10. 5:1 originally fueled by two SU HS6 carburetors.
This Morgan Plus 8 was imported by us in 2012, as it was over 25 years old and had no Federal requirements. The car has a 3. 5 liter Rover V8 with twin SU carbs and a 10. 5 to 1 compression ratio. These non-pollution equipped motors coupled with the light weight bodies made a very quick driving sports car. This particular Plus 8 came to us with 4 previus owners and a three ring binder with paperwork dating back to 1988. The car was never damaged nor rusted and was very well maintained. It is well equipped with conv. top, side curtains, luggage rack, bonnet strap, twin fog lamps, tonneau cover, and alloy wheels. This is a great Morgan for local club events and drives on country roads.
