I'm open to sensible offers on this ex-MOD Land Rover 109, made famous when it was run as a fleet/ project vehicle by Land Rover Owner magazine from 2014 to 2023, featuring many times.
I've added more images from the 13-part recommissioning series that covered bodywork repairs including new doors, fitting a new fuel tank, a reconditioned SU HIF44 carb, new exhaust, tyres, crank seal replacement, new springs, dampers and starter motor, an interior trim, Exmoor Trim soft top replacement, transfer box overhaul and an upgrade to Roamerdrive overdrive for lower rpm cruising. Samples of those features are in the photo gallery, but there are more.
The 2286cc petrol engine starts on the button and the vehicle drives well overall – I regularly pop out for a spin around the local lanes – though there is the usual transmission whine. The chassis appears sound but cosmetically this old warhorse is best described as having character, with dents to most body panels and a careworn appearance to everything else. You certainly won’t worry about picking up a few parking dings with this Land Rover.
It's more than 40 years old so eligible for the historic vehicle class, making it tax and MoT exempt, but it has a current MoT that’s valid to 30. 08. 24.
Although the listing says Dealer, in fact we're not, we're a publishing business that is selling off what was a project vehicle run by Land Rover Owner magazine. Ex-MOD Land Rover 109 Soft Top was bought by Land Rover Owner magazine in 2014 and subjected to a 13-part feature series covering recommissioning, repair and upgrade work. Samples of the features are in the picture gallery.
