1929 Riley Nine MklV Tourer - NOW RESERVED
Vintage models of the Riley Nine have always had a strong following, with the four seat tourers always being keenly sought. The majority of these cars were fabric bodied, although a comparatively small number were fitted with coach built metal bodies.
This 1929 example of the coach-built tourer is understood to have been rebuilt by a Riley aficionado in the late ‘80’s and won an award at the Riley Register Coventry Rally soon after completion. It has been with the present custodian for the past 8 years and recent work has included a new clutch race and universal joint, the fuel gauge converted to electric operation and the charging system converted to 2 brush with a modern regulator.
All five tyres have been renewed and the car has a single SU carburettor, therefore it should qualify for VSCC Light Car events. The car runs correctly with magneto ignition as original, however, a coil conversion unit is available if required.
Full weather equipment is in very good serviceable condition, with sidescreens that appear to be virtually unused.
This Riley presents well with pleasantly mellowed maroon leather upholstery.
A most charismatic Vintage Riley, it is offered with a file of documentation plus a number of books and maintenance manuals.

The car retains the correct magneto ignition; however, a coil conversion is available if required.
