Description
1993 Yamaha FS1E Moped Registration Number: K923 PCV Frame Number: 3F6 105955 - Original unrestored example - 3 previous owners, 1, 858 miles from new The Yamaha FS1E, lovingly known as the Fizzy, changed thousands of lives in the 1970s. In the 70s, when the age of 16 was reached, pimply faced youths of the time were eligible to ride a moped. The law states 'a 50cc moped, designed to be propelled by pedals ‘ . Yamaha saw a loophole in the law. They already had the FS1 being used in great number in Europe, a sporty little motorcycle, with a nifty 50cc engine. A pair of bicycle pedals were grafted onto the bike, with a faux device fitted which allowed the bike to be propelled forward, when the pedals were turned, flick the switch back and with a bit of tinkering, you had a bike that would do over 60mph. They sold in Millions. This 1993 Yamaha FS1E has a genuine 1, 858 miles from new, with just 3 previous owners. A nice low mileage example which ready to fizz up the streets once more!
This bike will be sold at auction with Dore & Rees Motoring at the Bristol Classic Motorcycle Show at the Bath & West Showground, Shepton Mallet, on Sunday 25th February 2024. For more details contact the Motoring Department via the above details.
