1979 MG Midget 1500 in excellent all-round condition with a super solid underside, it’s probably the best one we’ve offered for sale, it’s running and driving absolutely spot on and comes with a full MOT to Feb 2025, plus it comes with a genuine lift off hard top, an excellent as new soft top, a full tonneau and a half tonneau, every possible weather option is included, we handle a few Midgets and we can assure you this one drive's superb, it’s the 1500cc later model with the slightly higher better suspension height, more power and a better ride than early models and it’s been back dated with a chrome bumper upgrade along with a really smart chrome grill.

It starts very easily and runs very well, pulling strongly through all the gears, it stops well and is steady at speed with no wandering or vagueness of any kind the steering wheel is rock steady, the slightest movement changing direction, no vagueness or wander and if you press the “go” pedal hard it’s quick at getting up to the speed limit (see video), we have checked the fluids for correct level and contamination, see pics.

The very smart interior has high back seats with headrests, both in good order free from rips or damage, plus an upgraded wood steering wheel, gear knob and dash panel, very good carpet set and clean door cards, it’s a sung place to get comfy for some motoring adventures.

Both doors click shut with a one finger push, no slamming, lifting or pushing required, they sit sung into the opening and line up with the panels, the boot and bonnet open, click shut and lock, the windows wind down, the quarter light vents twist, the side lights, head lights, wiper, washers, heater all work.

The hood is as new, clear windows with no cracks or splits, the hood frame is in good order, the clip on hardtop is well finished inside and out and has good serviceable seals all round, the tonneau covers are both serviceable with no rips or tears.

The paintwork is very presentable, there are a few tiny imperfections and shut edge touch in’s that will be found on very close inspection as with any classic, but unlike most this car has a deep shine and all the panels line up a treat, the wing seams are great, it really is a very good example all round.

It’s completely solid underneath, the sill’s, floor pans, jacking points, chassis legs are solid, we lift it up with blocks on the sills for the underside inspection, not many Midget owners dare do that. It’s just as smart under the bonnet, everything where it should be and all clean and tidy, no breathing from the oil filler cap and running sweetly (see video), all the tyres are in good order with no slows or leaks, any inspection welcome.

We have the full logbook showing the current owner since 2015, its HPI clear with a printout, comes with large a history file containing many invoices and old MOTS.

Draw out of your boring ISA, get out the picnic hamper and go and enjoy your hard-earned savings, you still have a car to sell if you want to cash in later and you will be making memories instead of a pittance of interest, always buy the best you can afford and your money is well invested.
