…………………….. SORRY, RESERVED FOR ROBIN…………………….
This one came to me some time ago, and it had been garaged, unused since 2007.
I purchased it from the son of the late owner, who had not even ridden the bike since it’s purchase. The result was the bike needed a re commission, as unused since 2007, and it has now been mechanically overhauled.
Much of the paintwork to the frame, tank, etc, appears original, and as such is clearly patinated. Nothing was left to chance mechanically. The top ends (barrels, heads etc ) were removed, stripped and vapour blasted, with standard bores being honed, and new rings, pushrod seals, gaskets, etc, fitted. Obviously, all oils, filter, plugs, etc were replaced. A reconditioned Bosch starter motor, complete with new battery were also fitted.
The bike is now off the button, hot or cold, and rides like a good Airhead should. Fitted with some nice period extras too, such as twin front discs (cast), crash bars, Boyer electronic ignition, full stainless exhaust system, etc. obviously “Historic” status eligible.
Here at JTR Classic BMW, Washington, North East England, I try to carry a broad range of Airhead machines in stock, ranging from running, riding project bikes, to immaculate collectors machines, and all at VERY competitive prices. Flexible viewing times, including evenings and weekends, but by appointment please. Give me a bell to chat about your Airhead requirements, and nice Airheaads always wanted for stock.
All the best
John.
