The hot hatch that needs no introduction - The 205 GTI. Often described as the greatest hot hatch of all time, and still used as a benchmark to this day by manufacturers when launching a new car. This particular 205 GTI started life as the fun and revvy ‘XU5J’ 1. 6, but in 2016 became the ‘ultimate’ Peugeot with an MI16 conversion, now even outpowering the bigger 1. 9 GTI by nearly 20hp! Other upgrades include the half leather from a 1. 9 GTI, making this the ultimate 205GTI experience ready for a new enthusiast home.
Exterior
This 205 GTI is black exterior with red pinstriping around the bumpers - Rare OEM pepperpot wheels finish off the exterior perfectly! Overall the paintwork and wheels are in good presentable condition, but as expected for a 34 year old car there are some signs of age and mileage, incl small marks in certain areas but nothing that really detracts from what is a clean usable car, ready to enjoy!
Interior
Interior is very clean for age and mileage, and as described above has been upgraded to 1. 9 GTI half leather. The only marks to the interior look to be from storage of something inside the car, and may subside with time. Windows & stereo work as they should (Period correct aftermarket headunit is a nice touch!)
Mechanical
This car is absolutely exceptional fun to drive! Once warm, the MI16 idles well, holds temperature and pressure efficiently, and is absolutely exceptional to drive! It’s an engine that really does push you on, backed up by the exceptional chassis and R888r tyres with plenty of tread, providing all the road holding needed! The original XU5J engine is available with the car also for the buyer.
