This is an early 1978, BMW R80/ 7, matching numbers, and a UK bike from new.
Prior to my acquisition, it had stood unused and garaged since 2014, but after a light re commissioning, is running like a good Airhead should. The bike appears to be largely original, and although there are some marks to the Burnt Orange paintwork, she presents nicely as a genuinely patinated old Airhead.
Being of mid 1970’s vintage, this represents, in my humble opinion, the best era of quality in BMW motorcycles. Wire wheels with nicely polished original alloy rims, frame paint that still sits nicely on that green primer that was used back then, hand pump, toolkit and first aid kit in place under the rot free original Denfield seat, full stainless exhaust system, etc, etc. they knew how to make them back then.
The bike is obviously Historic status, so is MOT exempt and tax free, and will be supplied fully serviced and ready to go. Even at this price, here at JTR Classic BMW, Washington, North East England, I’ll be more than happy to consider YOUR airhead BMW in part exchage, cash either way.
