Description
The 3rd-generation Mercedes SL (internal code W113) was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1963. Both innovative and iconic, its innovative and modern styling contrasted with anything the Stuttgart-based manufacturer had presented before. It was the work of French designer Paul Bracq, famous for his work on a number of iconic models. The 'Pagoda', so called by journalists because of its curved hard-top roof, which gave the impression of an Asian temple, was powered by Mercedes-Benz's famous fuel-injected in-line 6-cylinder engine. The Pagode had 3 different engines, first the 230 with the 2. 3l (1963-1967), then the 250 with the 2. 5 (1966-1968) and finally the 280 with the 2. 8l (1968-1971). It was discontinued in 1971 and eventually replaced by the all-new SL (4th generation) type 107 The vehicle This model, with its papyrus white exterior (717 G) and magnificent blue leather interior (245), is in very good condition. All the documents relating to the sale and history of the vehicle are included in the file. The car underwent an engine and gearbox change on 14 October 1977, carried out at a dealership near Nice. At that time, the car had 33, 390 kilometres on the clock. The vehicle was of French origin, ordered on 30 July 1968 and delivered on 16 September of the same year.
