MG TC, year 1949. Chassis (VIN) number TC9511, engine number XPAG10143. Black exterior colour combined with a red leather interior trimmed with black carpet. Black mohair hood, side screen frames, and hood cover. This MC TC was sold new in the USA and is currently registered in the Netherlands. According to the title of a book about the MG T-series, they were “The sports cars the world loved first”. American WW2 soldiers were totally smitten by the light, compact, and agile MG T series cars and many were shipped to the USA after the war. Starting with the post war MG TC the British sports car became a bestseller in the United States. This wonderful example was restored in the past, and the engine was overhauled. The car is in a very good condition, and it drives delightfully! This MG TC shows wonderful original details and some slight traces of previous use. The mechanicals have received some proper upgrades with the fitment of a more powerful modern starter motor, modified (lighter and more precise) steering gear, and a free flow exhaust manifold to improve engine performance. The car is fitted with new 19-inch wire wheels shod with Dunlop 4. 50 x 19 tyres. This MG TC brings a fantastic vintage open top driving experience. The sight on the wood dashboard with its array of chrome bezel gauges, and the look over the bonnet take you back to the golden years of motoring!
