1 registered keeper for the last 47 years 64, 000 miles genuine with a letter of declaration, purchase & supporting mots present with the car . 3 sets of keys & all books including service book plastic pouch, jack and , chock all in great condition. All tax discs for the time it was on the road. Heater, cigar lighter & clock all still function along with everything else as they should. Ashtray, seatbelts & carpets appear as new . The floor pans are immaculate & the seats have had covers for its entire life . The car drives and performs as it should with no faults .
This is only 64, 000 genuine miles with 1 previous owner and represents as such . Hard top underside is superb. Matching numbers and original keys. With doors that shut & key barrels that still have spring action. This car has had nothing swapped , nothing changed with nothing missing .
Requiring refurbishment of body , chrome & embellishments that you would expect from a 59 year old car. It appears to have had no panel change & moderate paintwork over its life that is now crazed a little or flat. Inside The boot area is in outstanding original condition . This must be the best base car available fit for complete renovation just purchased from a couple in their eighties . Please don't expect a visual show stopper because it's not. Front wings & inner wings are not great along with a couple of repairs to the cover sills. But body sills and jacking points immaculate . Paintwork is really isn't great but the rear wings are really sound generally . blue soft top resides under the cover with x2 minor mouse nibbles some years ago. But generally very good . Roof irons represent as new . This is now a one of a kind original find.
the details belowI cut my motor trade technician teeth on these cars over 40 years ago along with all sorts of late 60 & early 70's Mercedes. having gained a local reputation for knowledge & understating of them It is because of this I was approached to purchase. I have done very minor works on this particular car over the years but was offered the car because of owning a 250sl myself & having previously given lots of advise to a man that was instrumental to the production of tornadoes and carried out his own maintainace. purchase from an 83 year old man that was very pragmatic about his £5000 purchase back in 1978 (receipt for that purchase present ) the service book shows regular stamps at correct intervals for its early life but nothing else for decades.
Parts catalogue, service manual and handbook . Car based in West Sussex.
