Description

Up for sale is my classic car which is being sold as an on going restoration project but is about 85% there. Its a 1974 Triumph Spitfire Mark4. I bought it back in 2002 with the goal of a full restoration. Over the years where time allowed, I bought parts and restored a lot of it. Here is a list of new parts and work done:-

Both new floor pans replaced and seam welded.

Cills on both sides cut out and replaced with the correct 3 skin layers (inner, centre and outer) I used the Rimmer Bros door brace to keep its rigidity.

‘A’ frame to floor braced and welded both sides.

Replacement fibreglass bonnet.

Inner rear wings and outer rear repair panel wings replaced (steel)

Replaced lower rear panels behind rear wings (steel)

Replacement boot lid.

Front coils replaced.

New front struts fitted.

Any bushes needing replacement has been done.

New ball ends on torsion bar.

New gudgeon bushes.

Engine has new gasket kit fitted.

Engine has had tappet clearance adjusted.

New borg and beck clutch fitted.

Dash has been reveneered by local joiner.

It has hard top and soft too but both need attention.

98% of welding has been done.

Work needed :-

Carbs stripped and rebuilt.

Master brake servo replaced

Master Clutch servo replaced

Primed and resprayed.

Brakes need overhaul.

Last small bits of welding to boot floor and boot channel.

Hard top/ soft top overhaul.

Dash and wiring.

Replacement radiator unless it can be reconditioned.

Little hole in exhaust (not fitted)

I would say it has all its bits and maybe a few spares. I may also have some invoices from Rimmer Bros of the parts I bought over the years. I will try looking them out before sale.

You will need to trailer it away.

Here is a small youtube video as my son and I brought it out my garage:-

- details above you are a classic car enthusiast you will love working on restoring and using this car. I have spent a lot on body panels welding it all back together cutting out the rust so really its just a case of carrying on where I left off replacing some component and generally finishing off.
