This is a lovely, early BMW R60/ 5, that has clearly been cherished by its owners. Imported from the USA almost 20 years ago, the bike has had only two previous owners since then, which is always a good sign.
Manufactured in January of 1972, this is the early short wheelbase version, in the now increasingly rare “Toaster” trim. It’s just arrived, so not had the chance to give her a spin out yet, but what a lovely looking bike. She’s off the button, hot or cold, with no smoke or rattles, good, even compressions, and charging well. Paint and chrome are excellent, and she has some great period extras, including chrome Krauser frames and luggage, Hagon rear shocks, new seat, stainless spokes, new speedo / rev counter, and a very expensive Wedgetail ignition system.
