Description
The first of the line for the famous 'BMW 6 Series’, but considered to be descendant of the beautiful E9 Coupe, the E24 was manufactured from 1976 to 1989. Sharing many parts from the 5 Series of similar vintage, it was a sleeker and sportier coupe alternative to the saloon, available exclusively with straight six engines.
This particular example is presented in a beautiful and unique colorway, and fresh from long term hibernation benefits from recent works to get it back on the road and ready to be enjoyed.
Exterior
The Jaguar British Racing Green (Repainted earlier in it’s life) exterior presents exceptionally well, and has been clearly stored indoors and under cover when not in use - There is no notable damage, with only light stone chips commensurate with age and mileage. All brightwork is present and shines exceptionally well with no pitting, along with all trim. The glass is complete and damage free and there is absolutely no corrosion to note.
The paintwork truly makes the vehicle, and this must be the only E24 in this colourway. The British Racing Green contrasts well with the brightwork, and when in sunlight truly shines.
Interior
The black interior presents exceptionally well. All plastics and trim are present and in good condition with no fading or damage. Electrical items all work as expected.
Mechanical
Mechanically, the vehicle has had a thorough recommissioning at a renowned BMW / Mini specialist ready for it’s new home. This has included Oil & Filter, Aux belt, Gearbox Flush & oil, Brakes, Air Filter, Cabin Filter + more. It fires into life and settles into idle quickly, and is an absolute joy to drive - The beautiful straight 6 is smooth and the 4 speed ZF box changes smoothly at the correct time.
