We are very pleased to offer a very well presented 1988 Austin Mini Mayfair. 1000cc. Finished in the Classic colour combination of Old English White with a contrasting black roof, Minilite wheels, Cooper grille and bullet mirrors, retro Cooper styling an a Mini that can be enjoyed and driven every day. It has covered only 66k in 38 years and is accompanied with a service history folder that includes the original stamped service book and handbooks. It was registered new by Gates Engineering in Brockenhurst with the first owner, Mr Batchelor living in here in New Milton, so it has come home! In 2017 it was lovingly restored with a file of photographs to support the work and it has settled nicely into a very cool looking Mini.
On the road this Mayfair drives very well. The 998 engine is very smooth and the gearbox is taught and precise. It benefits from having electronic ignition so it starts instantly and offers plenty of power, certainly enough to make you smile. We have also just fitted completely new brakes front to back so you can have plenty of confidence on the twisty stuff. The pure Mini experience is on offer here, a fun engaging drive.
The interior is very well presented and has been upgraded with black vinyl seats with cream piping with matching door cards, alloy door trim and a sports steering wheel. It also has the Mayfair three clock binnacle with a rev counter and very eighties cassette player; This model also has rear seat belts.
This Mini has a very solid shell with gleaming floor pans, body coloured sills, inner arches and solid subframes. The paintwork is well presented with only the odd very minor blemish, this is a very good looking Mini that gets lots of attention from its subtle styling,
The Mayfair has been fully serviced, checked, tuned and driven and it also has a full no advisory MOT. It is also only 2 years away from being MOT and tax exempt.
