Description
1947 Morris 8 Series E – 2 Door Saloon.
Meet this little Morris Eight – built in 1947 and still running sweetly nearly eight decades on. With its claret and black paintwork and original leather seats, it’s got that unmistakable post-war charm.
It isn’t concours, but that’s not the point – this is a car to be driven and enjoyed. It starts on the button, ticks over like a sewing machine, and still feels eager on the road. The steering and brakes remind you it’s from another era, but that’s half the fun.
The interior has a bit of age to it – some stitching on the seats has come loose – but it’s comfortable, characterful, and has clearly been well cared for. It’s had a recent new battery and carpets, and somewhere along the way it was sensibly converted to 12v negative earth.
You’ll get some nice history too, including the original buff log book, a handful of receipts, and club magazines. Last owner kept it for 22 years. MOT and road tax exempt, so it’s ready for local runs, club rallies, or just pottering to the shops with a smile.
