Please read the advertisement in detail... vehicle with an engine problem, it runs perfectly but works to be done, hence the price (GTv6 perfect = £20, 000/£22, 000 minimum). The car was repainted red in 2012 (invoice €4, 100), it is originally grey. Rare original sunroof.
Alfa Romeo GTV6 from 1984, purchased following a death last year, the previous owner had it since at least 1991 as I have invoices dating back to that year... fairly complete invoice file, all technical inspections since 2007. I had fairly major work carried out soon after purchase; the car was running but needed a major overhaul. I had the following replaced:
5 new tyres (4 Michelin + spare with a more ordinary tyre), all calipers are new, all discs, all pads, all brake hoses, control arm bushes, tie rods, stainless steel exhaust (Ansa), rocker cover gasket, timing done, engine oil change, gearbox, spark plugs new, etc., etc... €2, 800 worth of new parts from Scuderia 116... after these works I drove the car and noticed a knocking-type noise only when the car is hot (not cold, starts fine). According to a former Alfa workshop foreman who listened to the car, it would be lateral play in the crankshaft due to wear of the shims. The car reads 87, 811 km on the odometer; all invoices and checks correspond, but it is very likely it has 187, 811 km... hence the known and normal wear of crankshaft shims. The car runs very well nonetheless, revs well, road manners are very good and normal, the gearbox shifts well, no abnormal creaking, the whole electrical system works, gauges and dash OK...
The car was repainted red in 2012 during treatment of a few corrosion spots... the rear boot is fully painted, the engine bay not everywhere... to make the car perfect, one would need to service the engine and take the opportunity to repaint what remains grey; the operation would be around forty hours and about €1, 000 of parts... ideal therefore for a mechanic...

Interesting history with invoices over 35 years and numerous new parts
Interior nearly perfect, plush velour not faded, no tears, dash nickel, carpet nearly perfect, I have 2 high-quality floor mats new in packaging... sunroof fairly rare, works perfectly. Good road manners, paint present well without scratches, nice shine, the exterior plastics have been treated and look very good despite a few scratches on the edges of the black areas... wheels in perfect condition, tested before mounting Michelin tyres and not warped...
-- points to revisit --
Engine problem, red paint in the engine bay to finish (I recall AR 557 as a reference), surface rust on chassis noted at the technical inspection, driver-side door seal to rework at the bottom or replace, note that the windows are a bit slow when going up but they always work!
Price will be firm and non‑negotiable, €14, 200, and the engine issue will be stated in writing and in compliance with best practice. It’s possible to view the car on a ramp or with the technical inspector, Alfa enthusiasts preferred...
