The story behind this model:
The Alfetta was manufactured and sold from 1972 to 1987 by the Italian house Alfa Romeo.
The name Alfetta, meaning “little Alfa” in Italian, derives from the nickname of the Alfa Romeo Tipo 159 Alfetta, a successful Formula One car which, in its final iteration (1951), paired a live axle with De Dion rear suspension.
A superb sporting saloon, the Alfetta stood out from its rivals for its unique character and engaging dynamics. Its perfect 50/ 50 weight distribution, De Dion rear axle, and transaxle arrangement made it a revolutionary engineering masterpiece of its time.
It was in March 1977 at the Geneva Motor Show that the 2. 0L model was launched and added to the initial catalogue.
And what about the look?
Taut, angular lines but not only... careful attention to the interior space that followed the traditional layout of sporting saloons. This was the sector in which the brand was considered one of the most representative at the time!
